Itinerary
Arrival at Ladakh and acclimatization
Today, you will land at the Leh Airport and check in the guest house or hotel (as per package is chosen), where you will have a chance to refresh yourselves and begin your acclimatization process in Leh. Most of the markets in Leh remains closed during the winters, but you will still be able to buy any last-minute trekking provisions from the shops should such a need arise. You will spend the night in the guest house or hotel in preparation for the next day.

At Leh
Today is a free day to relax and acclimatize. Later visit the SNM hospital for the medical check-up (medical check-up fees to be paid directly at the hospital) and to acquire fitness certificate necessary for the Chader Trek.

Night Stay in Leh

Drive to Chilling (65Kms) and Trek to Gyalpo (5-6 Hours approx)
Today will begin with a drive up to Chilling. You will begin driving along the Indus river to the village of Nimu where a short break will ensue. Post light veg lunch and sightseeing, you will continue the drive till you reach Tilad Do, near Chilling. Tilda Do is the starting point of the trek. After passing Shingra Koma, you reach the camp-site for the day at Gyalpo. You will be served with early dinner and call it a day. Dinner & overnight stay in tents.

Night Stay in Gyalpo

Trek through Zanskar from Shingra Koma to Tibb Cave (15 kms approx)
This day sees the beginning of your Short Chadar trek. After an early tea and breakfast, time to tackle the day’s trekking. You will be walking approximately 15 kilometres in the ice and snow today, following the Zanskar river as it meanders through the valley. The Day 4 of trek follows the route from Shingra Koma to Tibb Cave. Camps will be set up once we reach Tibb cave and we will enjoy the spectacular beauty of the place while you enjoy the generous warmth of yaks-tea and steaming hot food for dinner. Dinner & overnight stay in tents.

Night Stay in Shingra Koma

Trek from Tibb Cave to Shingra Koma (15 kms approx)
Today, we will head back over the route you trekked yesterday. This day will see you trekking the 15 kilometres from Tibb’s Cave to Shingra Koma and onwards to the campsite at Gyalpo. As you walk, you will have a chance to explore not just the beauties of the landscape but you can see several trails of pug-marks all along the trek – footprints belonging to foxes, ibex or snow-leopards. Dinner & overnight stay in tents.

Night Stay in Shingra Koma

Shingra Koma to Tilad Do (10kms) and Drive to Leh (65kms)
Today you will start your journey back to Leh. After an early breakfast, you will begin the last leg of your trekking from Gylapo to Tilad Do. This is the last chance to enjoy trekking over the frozen Zanskar river. After reaching Tilad Do, you will catch a ride back to Leh. Overnight stay in the guesthouse or hotel.
